GCS Choice Application Window Now Open

Guilford County, N.C. – The Guilford County Schools (GCS) Choice Application window is now open. 

From now through 5 p.m. on November 28, families can explore all that GCS has to offer. From career pathways, college course credit opportunities, and more, GCS offers a variety of ways for families to customize their students’ educational experience and prepare them for success.  

This year, GCS is proud to announce two new options for families: The World of Discovery program at Ferndale Middle and the Advanced Manufacturing Signature Career Academy at Southeast Guilford High. These schools and more will be on display at the annual Choice Showcase on October 22.  

There, representatives and students will be on site to answer questions and talk about their programs. Families can also learn more about the Guilford Guarantee, a districtwide commitment to ensure every student, whether attending a neighborhood school or a choice school, graduates with at least a semester’s worth of college credits up to an associate’s degree, an industry recognized credential or workplace experience like internships, apprenticeships or job shadowing.  

Programs are designed to make sure students have every opportunity to explore their passions and see their futures more clearly. GCS is equipping all students so they can do more, dream bigger, and achieve their goals with confidence and a plan for their future. 

The Choice Showcase is from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the First Horizon Coliseum Special Events Center. In addition to the showcase, families are encouraged to tour schools they’re interested in and learn more about the variety of programs available across Guilford County Schools by visiting www.gcsnc.com/choice.
